The International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) has released the latest edition of its Recreational Boating Industry Statistics. The ICOMIA Statistics provides a wealth of industry intelligence in one useful reference document, which is used extensively within the industry mainly for companies analysing export markets; external stakeholders interested in investing in the marine leisure sector appreciate the insights given into key markets.
During 2021, the post-pandemic sales of boats remained strong in most countries, especially for larger yachts, the industry has enjoyed strong growth with many consumers looking for boats with the newest technologies and accessories. However, this has come with a range of challenges such as a considerable backlog in the delivery of already purchased boats, a shortage of persons with the required expertise and experience, a lack of storage space and continued supply chain issues just to name a few.
